We are all stuck inside these days, with no movies to go to, no restaurants or pubs opened, however, that doesn’t mean that you and BAE can’t have date night and have a bit of craic at home. Read on for some quarantine date night ideas – Irish Edition!
1.Film Night

you see your
sweets from SweetCo
Why not bring the cinema to you? With Netflix, Amazon Prime etc at our finger tips, watching movies has never been so easy. A lot of films that were set to be released this year have also been released to watch on tv. If you want to make your film night feel more legit, why not order some goodies and treats from SweetCo, Ireland’s largest and cheapest sweet suppliers. They also do some groceries. Now you’re mostly buying in bulk from them, so you’ll be stocked up on your sweets for the rest of the year!
2. Quiz Night
Why not grab yourself some beers and have a good old fashioned pub quiz. You and BAE can form a team and see how you do! Although be warned, people can get competitive when it comes to quizzes, so I take no blame if this results in divorce!
Jay Flynn does a live pub quiz every Thursday and Saturday night. You can follow him on Instagram – @thevirtualpubquiz or head to Youtube to check it out. He is based in the U.K and his quizzes have become hugely popular and look like great fun!
Todayfm are doing a weekly Know It All Ireland Quiz. It looks like fun, check it out!
The Lock Inn are doing online Irish quizzes, testing you on all things Irish. They have qualifiers for all the time zones, and then they will be holding one big final in a few weeks. I entered the North American qualifier last week and it was great craic. Check out their site for the calendar of upcoming quizzes and other fun virtual events.
Irish Central in association with MyIrishDate have run some virtual quizzes. Irish Central have some live virtual music events too. Check them out here.
Why not order some local beers for your quiz/trivia night? Here are some places offering deliveries:
Martin’s Off Licence: If you are into craft beer, then look no further, they have a huge selection and they will deliver to your doorstep no matter where in Ireland you are located.
Rascal’s Brewing: If you fancy a case of 24 beers from Rascal’s, you can do pick up from their brewery or order for delivery.
For the wine drinkers, check out Wines Direct. You can get wine delivered to your home within 48 hours (nationwide), and the first order has free delivery.
3. Cocktail Night
Why not learn how to make some new cocktails with BAE during quarantine life?! You can then wow your guests next time you throw a party (whenever we are permitted to do that).

Half baked Harvest has some amazing cocktail recipes. I just recently tried one myself and it was delicious! She releases a new one every Saturday so check out her website for inspiration!
I also have the details for a Quarantini Sunrise cocktail and an Irish Dalgona Espresso Martini on my instagram. Get the recipes here. Believe me, you should try the Irish Dalgona Espresso Martini, it is amazing! I have that recipe on my blog post “Dalgona Coffee 4 Ways“
Tullamore Dew ran a contest last month to win a Virtual Snug Session, including a cocktail making demonstration. Keep an eye on their Instagram in case they decide to do it again!

4. Cook a nice meal
Some restaurants are doing meal kits so you can make your favourite dishes right at home and bring the restaraunt vibe to your own kitchen:
Smokin Bones: You can order a BBQ in a box from them. Orders must be in by 4pm the day before delivery.
Box Burger: Their box will include all the ingredients you need to make the best burger, along with helpful tips. You can also order cocktails from them. They have also introduced a new box brunch menu for all your brunch needs.
5. Fancy Take Away and Drinks

night at home!
Why not get all dolled up and order a nice meal and have some drinks, and pretend you’re out at your favourite restaurant? God knows we need to use our imagination in these dark days!
Cliff Townhouse is doing a new take away menu and you can order win to go along with your meal. They are located in Dublin 2, they offer limited delivery, or alternatively, you can pick up from the location with contact-less pick up being offered.
Bunsen, I know their burgers are very popular. You can order for delivery via Deliveroo, or order online for collection from the website.
The Twelve, located in Barna, Galway, are doing an at home menu, offering a drive through take away service.
6. Dinner and a virtual show
Once you’ve ordered your dinner, why not tune into one of these live shows or concerts:
Museum Tour: Fancy adding some culture to your date night? Why not take a virtual tour of The Louvre?
Dublin Zoo: They have live webcams where you can watch some of the animals, and they also do virtual tours every Monday at 10am (not exactly a great time for a date!)
National Concert Hall: NCH is also doing some virtual performance. Check out their website for dates and times.
What other quarantine date nights have you been doing? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time 🙂
