Review of Hotel Metro London (Ontario)

Last week I did a collaboration with Hotel Metro in London and we had a great time! London, Ontario, not to be confused with London, England, is the second best London in the world 😉 and is known as a University party town!

Hotel Metro is a hidden gem that you could easily overlook if you didn’t know it was there. It’s in a great location right by Covent Garden Market and across the street from Budweiser Gardens, which is a big sports entertainment centre in London. So if you are heading there for a game or a show (whenever we can do that again!), staying at Hotel Metro would be ideal!

Obviously, hotel check in looks somewhat different during this pandemic, but I have to say at Hotel Metro, we felt extremely safe at all times. We wore our masks upon entering the hotel, and any staff we came across also were wearing masks. To that point, we didn’t actually see many staff as I presume they want as few people as possible interacting with guests.

Upon arrival, they had a desk set up as we entered the door, complete with hand sanitizer. There was a form that I had to fill out which included my information and contact details (for contact tracing purposes). This form also asked if I was experiencing symptoms such as cough, fever, difficulty breathing etc. The form also asked about travel in the past 14 days and if I had been in contact with anyone who was a confirmed or possible Covid case, and also if I had been in contact with anyone that had travelled to a specific list of countries in the past 14 days.

After that, we checked in. Shawn, who was working on the front desk had confirmed that our freshly cleaned robes had just been placed in our room and he also notified us that some things had been removed from the room such as tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer etc. These items were available upon request. Our room was absolutely spotless and we didn’t have contact with any other guests or staff while there.

We were in the Loft King room which I absolutely adored. The room style was pretty unique and I loved it. It was very open concept, with the bath/shower and sink over to one side, but not in a separate room. Don’t worry, the toilet was behind closed doors! My favourite part of the room was the gorgeous exposed brick wall behind the bed. It gave the room such a unique flair and it’s made me want to put exposed brick somewhere in my own home!

The room was totally open concept

As I mentioned, we got beautiful freshly cleaned robes, and some lovely fluffy slippers, as well as some gorgeous bath salts for the bath. Those extra little details really go a long way in my mind, and I’m a sucker for soft slippers!

The bed was really comfortable, as were the pillows. There is nothing more annoying than staying in a fabulous hotel with awful pillows, but we had zero complaints in that department. We both had a great night’s sleep in the bed.

Unfortunately, the weather was awful while we were there, so we didn’t get to explore London and all we really saw was the inside of some pubs 😉 However, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Metro, and if we are in London again, we will return to the hotel.

They have some great packages at the moment where you can save on our hotel stay in order to have a little extra money to spend in local bars and restaurants in London. You can check out there packages online.

I loved the exposed brick in the room

If you are going to spend some time in London, then I highly recommend Hotel Metro!

Rating: 4/5

Until next time 🙂
